I needed to get a photo attached to this listing on Webike so you can see how good these chrome old school looking shocks look on the Monkey 125. For me they really fit the original styling of this motorcycle, I know there a better performing rear shocks out there but I did not want to have anything too modern looking. The diameter of the springs are larger then the OEM Honda ones and give the rear of the motorcycle a more solid look now. Mini Moto stickers are included fitted to the inner section of the shock and you can choose to mount the shocks to display this or not. The pricing of these rear shocks id very good but shipping costs to Australia is high.
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of this set of rear shock absorbers. Lots of chrome plated steel on these, from the shock body to the springs and then the pre-load adjusters are made from cast aluminium.About the feeling of use: To me they look much better then the Honda rear shocks and there is no doubt they perform better and this is mainly because they have heavier rated springs.Products to buy together: Some type of upgrade to the front forks would also be desirable to purchase along side these rear shock absorbers. I didn't want to go to the trouble of completely disassembling the front forks for heavier rated springs, so I just changed the fork oil to a 20w for now and it is an improvement.Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about three quarters of an hour, 2 acorn nuts per shock and multiple wahers are all that is involved. Not difficult to do.Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a suitably sprung set of rear shock absorbers that look great on the Monkey 125 in chrome and they are affordable for your average rider as compared to most of the other options here on Webike which are much more expensive.About shipping and packaging: The faster and more expensive shipping are the only option for suspension. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: If you weight less than 70kg then I think you will find the spring rate of these rear shock absorbers too high and you should checkout the ones available from Takegawa, which are also available in chrome.View Detail
About quality and texture - Top quality for the low price they are going for here on Webike. Chrome plating on the shock body and spring is holding up well after some use.About the feeling of use - For a basic rear shock they are performing great on my short daily commute. They have preload adjustment but due to the heavier springs over the OEM ones I have not required to make any adjustment.Products to buy together - MiniMoto make some Monkey 125 specific parts and I'd like to add their Honda 3D fork emblem kit to give my Monkey a bit more retro styling.Difficulty of installation - Installation of the rear shocks is very simple on this motorcycle. Can be performed by just one person with a spanner.Cost performance and comparison with other products - These are cheap dollar wise when comparing to what is available here on Webike but you will be surpised of the quality you get for such little money.About shipping and packaging - I think Webike are doing their best with shipping pricing, so I'm happy. Packages ship within 24 hours and arrive very quickly from Japan.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - It is a shame Mini Moto only offer these shocks in chrome and black, so if you are wanting another colour shock to match your Monkey you will be wanting to take a look at the ones availble from Kitaco.View Detail
About quality and texture - Great quality, I really like the chrome but the welds around the base of the eyelets could be a little better.About the feeling of use - They handle my 80kg way better then the Honda OEM ones did, a much firmer ride which I like.Products to buy together - I paired these together with some stiffer fork springs from Kitaco to complete my suspension transformation.Difficulty of installation - Easy to install, I just changed one at a time so no stand was required.Cost performance and comparison with other products - You will not find much cheaper costing rear shocks then these but they are a very basic replacement compared to what is available at a much higher cost.About shipping and packaging - Only option to Australia was express, so I had them in my hands within a week but was expensive.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - Add a little grease to the mounting points when installing these to keep the pivot operation smooth.View Detail
The Honda Monkey 125 OEM rear shock absorbers are under sprung for most people so are an upgrade that is most likely required. I compared many shock absorbers available for the Honda Monkey 125 and for my budget and styling for my Monkey the MiniMoto chrome ones was what I decided to go with. Once received and inspected I give them a 4 out of 5 for quality. The installation is very easy. They come with a collar to adjust the pre-load on the spring but at my weight of 74 kg the lowest setting with no additional pre-load was used. Since riding with these fitted the rear of the bike it a lot firmer and to be quite honest maybe a bit firmer then I wanted.View Detail
Normal suspension is soft and bouncy, so I replaced it with Minimoto shock absorber and the rear tire bites better and I don't mind a little bump.View Detail
View Detail
Super shock absorbers at an affordable price I bought myself for my Honda Monkey. I chose between different manufacturers, but decided to leave my choice to minimoto, so my friend has already bought shock absorbers from this company and was satisfied. I bought myself not reinforced, but with an increased length relative to the original length of the shock absorbers. I am very pleased with the result - the landing has become more convenient, the suspension has become balanced and elastic in motion, it has become a pleasure to ride. View Detail
Purchased for Honda Monkey. The original racks weakened, did not hold the load, there was a noticeable buildup in motion, again a tired appearance. I also wanted to raise the rear a little, due to the non-original low seat installed. The choice fell on reinforced racks of increased length (280mm) MINIMOTO. Liked the quality. Easy installation. The end result satisfied the expectation. I recommend!View Detail

Really nice stainless steel exhaust system from Special Parts Takegawa at a great price here on Webike. If you are looking to get rid of the quite Honda OEM exhaust system but still wish to retain the factory look of your Honda Monkey then this is the exhaust system for you. This exhaust gives the little 50cc engine a nice note that you can now hear. Fit and finish of the exhaust is very nice and I do like the fact that if required in the future repacking of the muffler is made simple by the the use of rivets in the end cap. Comes with everything you need for a successful installation.View Detail
I was in the market for a new air filter for the Monkey and decided to give this one from Special Parts Takegawa a try. I have not purchased a part from Special Parts Takegawa that I did not like and this part is no different, it gives that nice intake noise and just looks trick sticking out the side of the frame like that. I will say that I would like to add the water resistant cover that they also sell to suit their pod style air filter. Comes with a breather attachment so you do not need to run an additional breather filter which will save you a few dollars.View Detail
Fits: HONDA 12V Gorilla (Z50J-2000001 or later / AB27-1000001 to 1899999), HONDA 12V Monkey (Z50J-2000001 or later / AB27-1000001 to 1899999), HONDA 6V Gorilla (Z50J-1300017 or later), HONDA 6V Monkey (Z50J-1300017 or later), HONDA monkey (FI)(AB27-1900001 or later)
When I picked up this Monkey the Honda OEM rear shock had no life left in them and I did not even waste anytime looking at other brands just went with these rear shocks from Special Parts Takegawa as they are my go to brand for the Monkey and have not disapponited this time either. Simple installation that anyone can do with the basic tools in your garage and I would suggest also remembering to add a little grease to the mounting posts to keep that area rust free. Nice OEM looking rear shocks with a spring rating that is more suitable for an average sized person. View Detail

I really love this part from Special Parts Takegawa, it just makes the Monkey look a million dollars and gives the engine overall just a better feeling. This special clutch kit also now gives you the ability to have a real oil filter and if you are going to run an oil cooler also the ability to have it start cooling when required by adding a thermostat. Such great thought has gone into designing this part. Installation skill required is medium and you will be needing some special tools which Webike has on offer. Expensive but well worth it. After some researching into all the different kits available for the Honda Monkey here on Webike I decided to go with this particular kit from Special Parts Takegawa mainly because it tucked nicely out of the way under the luggage rack with the up style exhaust and had the correct breather fitting to work with the clutch cover I have fitted to the engine. Do yourself a favour and also buy some hose a cutter from Webike too so you can have a perfect finish once the installation is complete. An expensive kit but it comes with everything you need and you don not have to spend a dollar more.View Detail
